Welcome to Nabil’s Feels

I’m a recovering drummer, current record label president, and author who published my memoir, My Life in the Sunshine in 2022, and has since been traveling the globe finding ways to connect with people about the subjects that are important to me:

Family, race, music, and often times, the ways in which these subjects intersect.

This 7-minute CBS Saturday Morning piece is an easy way to learn more.

You can expect about two posts per month, and they’re often real-time reactions to events like seeing Taylor Swift in Kansas City, meeting the woman whose ancestors enslaved mine, and discovering that all drummers are friends.

This is supposed to be fun, and my favorite thing about Substack is the individual email replies I receive from readers.

I’ll keep this short, and focus on the posts—which are also short.

I hope to see you on this thing.
